ADA, Okla. – The East Central University volleyball team played their first five-set match of the season, falling to Southwestern Oklahoma State 3-2 (25-20, 19-25, 25-23, 20-25, 12-15) at the Kerr Activities Center.

- The teams traded the first four serves
- The Tigers (2-4, 2-4 GAC) then went on a 4-1 run to take the three-point advantage
- The Bulldogs (4-2, 4-1 GAC) fought back to tie the set at seven and take a 10-7 lead

- SWOSU then used a 6-1 run to force the fifth set
- Set 5: 12-15
- The Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 advantage
- ECU then followed with a 4-0 run to tie the set at 4
- The teams traded small runs to an 8-8 tie
- SWOSU then used a 4-0 run to take control for good (12-8)
- The Tigers kept fighting and cut the disadvantage to two (12-10), but SWOSU used a 3-2 run to earn the victory
