ADA, Okla. – East Central University athletics will have a full slate of events this week, including one senior day celebration.
Tuesday, March 30 will be a busy afternoon for the Tigers, with soccer, baseball and volleyball on schedule for the day. Soccer will be the first to get into action, with a 2 p.m. start at Northwestern Oklahoma State. The baseball team will throw the first pitch at 3 p.m. against Central Oklahoma at Ken Turner Field. The volleyball team will wrap up competition for the day, with a 7 p.m. match at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
The softball team will then start their Great American Conference series against Southwestern Oklahoma State, Thursday, April 1, with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m., and finish the series Friday, April 2 at 12 p.m. at Tiger Field.
The football team will return to action after close to three weeks off, with an exhibition game at NCAA Division I (Football Championship Series) Tarleton State at 6 p.m.
The baseball team will then hit the road for their GAC series at Southwestern Oklahoma State, April 2-3. The teams have a single game scheduled for 3 p.m., Friday April 2 and a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 3.
After the softball game at Tiger Field, Friday, April 2, the volleyball team will play their final regular-season match of the season at 7 p.m. The Tigers will host Southeastern Oklahoma State for the annual Senior Day, to honor seniors
Kasey Beeler and
Carcyn Robertson.
The week will wrap up with the final regular-season soccer match, with ECU hosting Southwestern Oklahoma State April 3 at 11 a.m. The track & field team will then head to Southwestern Christian for the Paul Parent Invite.
The GAC indoor sports attendance policies will remain in effect for the rest of the 2020-21 regular season. Home team student-athletes and non-student coaches will have a limited guest list, with no visiting team fan attendance.
ECU will allow attendance at all outdoor sports, but it will be limited by the capacity of each venue. Attendance is free for all fans, with seating on a first come, first served basis. Fans may sit in bleachers where socially distanced by household groups or in self-provided chairs, as long as socially distanced 6 feet from the fences surrounding the playing area.
Fans will not be permitted to gather behind home plate/backstop areas nor team areas (dugouts, benches, etc.) and are asked to refrain from interacting with players on either team at the site of competition prior to, during and following the games.
ECU remains committed to enforcing a mandatory mask and social distancing mitigation effort on the entire campus.
