Volleyball Rallies Back to Take Five-Set Match at Southeastern

DURANT, Okla. – The East Central University volleyball team dropped the first two sets of the match, but then rallied back to earn the 3-2 victory (21-25, 13-25, 25-23, 25-15, 18-16) at Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Scoring
  • Set 1:  21-25
    • 4 Lead Changes, 10 Tie Scores
    • The teams traded serves and small runs throughout the set
      • No team led by more than three, until after a 17-all tie
    • The Tigers (4-5, 4-5 GAC) took the first lead over three (21-18) late on a 4-1 run
    • The Savage Storm (1-8, 1-8 GAC) fought back to tie the set at 21 and gain the 25-21 win on a 7-0 run
  • Set 2: 13-25
    • The teams traded points and runs through the first third of the set
    • Set was tied at 6 when SEOSU used a 4-0 run to take the lead for good
    • The Savage Storm pushed the advantage to seven (8-15)
    • ECU fought back within three (12-15)
    • SEOSU countered with a 6-0 run to push the lead to 11

    • The Savage Storm opened with a 3-1 run, but the Tigers followed with a 4-0 run to gain the lead
