Women’s Basketball Faces League Leading Southwestern Oklahoma State

ADA, Okla. – With ice and cold temperatures outside the Kerr Activities Center, the East Central University women's basketball team and Southwestern Oklahoma State battled through cold shooting percentages inside.  The Tigers (14-11, 11-10 GAC) led for most of the game, but ending up falling, 69-64 in overtime, to the Bulldogs (25-4, 19-2 GAC).

Scoring
  • 1st Quarter: 15-8
    • ECU jumped out to an early 6-2 advantage, in the first two minutes
    • The Tigers kept the advantage around five for the rest of the quarter
  • 2nd Quarter: 11-16 (26-24)
    • SWOSU started the half with a 5-0 run, in the first 30 seconds
    • The Bulldogs kept pushing and tied the game at 20, with five minutes left
    • ECU countered with a 6-0 run in the next 1:15
    • SWOSU then pushed back with a 4-0 run in the remaining time
  • 3rd Quarter: 21-14 (47-38)
    • The Tigers came out firing and in the first 4:30 minutes had built the lead to 10 (36-36)
    • The Bulldogs would fight back to within four and ECU would push the lead back to around 10 the rest of the stanza
  • 4th Quarter: 10-19 (57-57)
    • The Tigers kept up the pressure and got the lead to 14 (57-43) in the first 3:30 minutes
    • SWOSU then took over and went on a 14-0 run in the remaining time in regulation
    • ECU had a chance to win the game with a last second shot, but missed to force overtime
  • OT: 7-12 (64-69)
    • The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game, 15 seconds in, on a free throw
    • SWOSU kept pushing and increased the lead to three (60-57) in the first minute
    • The Tigers were able to tie the game at 62, with 3 minutes to play and took a 64-62 lead on a 7-2 run
    • The Bulldogs finished the game strong, with a 7-0 run to claim the victory
