PRYOR, Okla. – The East Central University baseball team completed day two of the three-game series with Northeastern State University, falling 9-1 Saturday evening following a thrilling 17-15 win Friday night.
 
Game 1
The Tigers came out on top in a back-and-forth battle that saw six lead changes and two ECU rallies in the final two innings.
 
Throughout the game, ECU's offense put pressure on the NSU defense, leading to five errors.
 
The Tigers had led 5-2 in the top of the fourth on the strength of a grand slam by 
Dawerlyn Amancio. By the eighth inning, the Riverhawks had rallied back to take a 10-7 lead. ECU's had a huge eight inning, sending 13 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs on five hits from 
Michael Rosario, 
Mason Glowacki, 
Dawerlyn Amancio, 
Nolan Herchock, and 
Duncan Key.
 
The Riverhawks countered the Tiger attack with five runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead 15-14.
 
In the ninth, Glowacki and 
Christian Whitaker singled to get two runners on. With two outs, 
Duncan Key reached on an error by the shortstop followed by a throwing error by the catcher that drove in Glowacki and Whitaker. Then a balk with Key on third gave ECU the extra insurance run to lead 17-15.
 
Bryan Terry closed out the ninth inning on the mound to secure the 17-15 ECU victory.
 
Game 2
NSU struck first with a homer to right field to take an early 1-0 lead.
 
ECU struggled to get the bats going in the first five innings, while NSU was able to rack up three more runs to cushion the lead 4-0 heading into the sixth.
 
Michael Rosario led off the top of the sixth with a solo homer to get the Tigers on the board, but ECU wasn't able to keep the rally going.
 
The Riverhawks scored five unanswered runs, one in the sixth, three in the seventh, and one in the eighth to secure the 9-1 win.
 
ECU left three on base and dropped to 1-1 in the series.
 
ECU baseball will play the series finale Sunday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at Pryor High School
