ADA, Okla. – The East Central University soccer team hosted Rogers State University for another non-conference matchup at Tiger Soccer Field, but fell 4-0 to a heavy-shooting Hillcat offense.
The first 45 minutes was even play between both teams as ECU only outshot RSU 13-11. The Tigers and Hillcats took turns firing six shots each in the opening 10 minutes, but nothing found the back of the net until RSU broke through in the 24
th minute to lead 1-0.
After the break, RSU wasted no time extending their lead as the Hillcats connected to the net within 32 seconds of resuming play. RSU continued to stay hot adding on to their lead, 3-0, in the 54
th minute and a final goal in the 65
th minute for the 4-0 victory.
Linea Andersen battled at the goal with four saves on the day.
Tanja Bauboeck led the Tiger offense with seven shots, four on goal, while
Addisyn Brown,
Olivia Witte, and
Cambori Watson had two apiece.
ECU will be back in action Thursday, Sept. 14 to take on Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma at 7 pm.
