Soccer Closes Texas Road Trip

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The East Central University soccer team completed their season opening road trip to Texas with a matchup against a tough Angelo State University program

The Tiger offense only registered five shots on the day against the Rambelles as they outshot ECU 25-5, with 15 of those shots on goal to the Tigers' three. ECU's offense could not seem to gain a spark, but they brought a great defensive fight as junior goalkeeper Linea Anderson tallied 10 saves in the match.

With five minutes left in the first half, Angelo State was the first to score to go up 1-0.

Tanja Bauboeck and Olivia Witte tested the Rambelles' defense with a shot each in the second half, but none would reach the back of the net.

Angelo State's momentum started to take over after they secured another goal extending the lead 2-0. The Rambelles would punch in two more in the final minutes of play to claim the 4-0 win over the Tigers.

The East Central University soccer team will next head to Denton, Texas to face Texas Woman's University on Tuesday, Sept. 5 with kickoff set for 7 pm.
