WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The East Central University soccer team delivered a statement performance on Wednesday, earning a 1–0 road win over Southwestern Oklahoma State University on their home turf in Weatherford. The result marked SWOSU's first Great American Conference loss of the season and a key momentum boost for the Tigers.

Despite the Bulldogs controlling much of the possession and outshooting ECU 23–11, both teams recorded seven shots on goal. The Tigers made the most of their opportunities, while the SWOSU attack was held scoreless by a resilient ECU defense.

ECU broke through in the 35th minute when
Ximena Resendiz converted a free kick that sailed high and past the SWOSU keeper, marking her first goal of the season.

From there, the Tigers' back line stood tall. Goalkeeper
Madison Mayhall anchored the defense with seven saves, preserving the shutout and securing her first clean sheet of the year.

Reece Roberson recorded two shots on goal, while
Madison Martinez,
Addisyn Brown,
Haleigh Goodson, and
Melieah Hinnant each added one.

The Tigers continue their road stretch on Saturday, Oct. 25, traveling to Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva for a 12 p.m. kickoff.
