ADA, Okla. — The East Central University men's basketball team opened its home slate in dominant fashion Friday night, rolling past Arlington Baptist University 106–70 at the Kerr Activities Center.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 2–1 on the season and will return to action Saturday at 3 p.m. for another non-conference matchup against Randall University.
"Our guys did a good job tonight," Head Coach Daniel Wheeler said. "I loved the way they played for each other and really shared it. Thank you to all the fans that came out. We appreciate you and hope to see you tomorrow afternoon!"
ECU wasted no time controlling the game, lighting up the floor with a 61–32 first-half advantage before continuing the momentum in the second half, 45–38. The Tigers shot a blistering 56.6% from the field, knocking down 43 total baskets, including 15 three-pointers at a 46.9% clip.
Every Tiger saw the floor, and 13 players scored at least once as ECU spread the offense efficiently and unselfishly. Six Tigers reached double figures, headlined by
Rustin Coffey, who posted a game-high 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
Braden Baum followed with 14 points and five rebounds.
Brandon Mann and
Javaun Henderson added 12 points apiece, while
Jordan England knocked down a team-best three triples on his way to 11 points.
Jaden Miller rounded out the standout performances with an impressive double-double, finishing with 10 points and a career-high 11 assists.
The Tigers will look to carry their offensive rhythm into Saturday's contest as they close out their weekend home stand.
