History was made today for the East Central University women's cross country team, as redshirt junior
Anna Mora participated in the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship, becoming the first female runner to participate for the Tigers in school history.

The El Paso, Texas, native finished a cold and rainy 6K race in 148
th place (264 individuals), with a time of 24:57.7. The national championship race was part of the NCAA Division II Championship Festival in Pittsburg, Penn.
Mora was one of eight runners in the race from the Great American Conference, as Oklahoma Baptist qualified as a team for the championships. The top runner for the Bison was Kaylee Crowson in 71
st (24:06.7) and OBU finished 16
th (34 teams) as a team.
Mora led the Tigers in every race this season, with a season-best time of 17:47.1, in a 5K race, at the Missouri Southern Stampede, Sept. 15. She helped ECU to a third-place finish at the 2018 GAC Championship and a 10
th-place finish at the 2018 NCAA Division II Central Regional.
In her career at ECU she has earned three-straight All-GAC First Team honors, a GAC Runner of the Year honor and two United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association region honors.
She is a standout in the classroom as well, earning All-GAC honors in both cross country and track & field for the last two years and D2ADA All-Academic honors all three.
Mora will have more time to rack up honors with the Tigers, as she will compete in her junior season of track & field last this year. In her first two seasons she earned All-GAC track & field honors by claiming the 10,000-meter title in 2015 and second in the 5,000 meters in 2016.
