Camron Talley has been named the Great American Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 7.
The Rockwall, Texas, native averaged 26.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the victories over Harding and Arkansas Tech. He added a 58.8 (20-of-34) field-goal percentage, three assists, one block and three steals.
After scoring just two points in the first half against Arkansas Tech, Talley started to hit shots in the second stanza. He worked his way toward the 16 points he needed at the start of the game, hitting, and surpassing the 1,000-point mark, with 3:21 left to play, on a three-point shot.
Talley ended the game with 1,009 points and is currently ranked No. 18 on the ECU 1,000-Point Club.
