Box Score 2 BETHANY, OKLA. – The East Central University softball team split the final two games of a four-game Great American Conference series with Southern Nazarene falling in the opening game 6-7 (8 innings) and winning in the final game 8-0.
The Lady Tigers (14-12, 9-7 GAC) were led by junior
Samantha McGraw, who hit .500 for the day. McGraw tallied three hits, scored once and added two RBIs.
Junior
Brianna Nunley picked up the win in game two on the day, allowing four hits and zero runs. Redshirt freshman
Sydney Dow threw a complete game in game one and suffered the loss. Dow allowed 12 hits and struck out four batters.
ECU will remain on the road for a Tuesday, March 25 rivalry double-header at Southeastern Oklahoma State at 1 p.m. The Tigers will then return home for a GAC weekend series with Arkansas-Monticello, March 28-29 at Lady Tiger Field.
Game 2 – ECU 8, SNU 0
The Lady Tigers came out strong in the opening inning of the second game, scoring four runs for a 4-0 lead. Sophomore
Chelsea Patterson led off the inning with a single to third and stole second. She was sent home when sophomore
Autumn Suydam singled up the middle. Junior
Lacey Williams was walked and both runners moved to second and third with a passed ball.

Jordynn VanPelt added an RBI with a single through the left side and a third run scored on a pass ball. Sophomore
Amanda Edmundson kept the inning alive with a walk and freshman
Nicole Nordie earned an RBI on a fielder's choice.
ECU added two runs in the fourth for a 6-0 lead. Junior
Kaile Marcum started the inning with a single and was sent to second with a single from junior
Kayci Snider. That allowed a run to score when Patterson reached on an error. Suydam loaded the bases by drawing a walk and the final run scored when Williams singled through the left side.
The advantage increased to 8-0 in the top of the seventh. After the first out, Edmundson doubled to left and was sent to third on a single to left by Marcum. McGraw earned the RBIs with a double to right field.
The Crimson Storm (10-13, 5-9 GAC) were held to just four hits for the game and didn't get a runner past second, while leaving seven runners on base throughout the game, allowing ECU to earn the 8-0 victory.
Game 1 – SNU 7, ECU 6 (8)
SNU came out ready to fight in the opening game of the day, taking a 0-4 lead by the end of the third inning. The Crimson Storm scored two in the first and a single run in both the second and third innings.
The Lady Tigers cut the deficit in half in the top of the fourth for a 2-4 score. Dow led off the inning with a walk, but was thrown out when Suydam hit into a fielder's choice. The two runs were scored when VanPelt hit a home run to left field.
SNU responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, for a 2-6 deficit.
ECU tied the game in the top of the seventh, scoring four runs. McGraw started the inning with a double to left and after the first out was recorded was joined on base by sophomore
Lauren Reeves, who singled up the middle. Sophomore
Leah Tigert earned an RBI with a single up the middle. The final runs were scored when Dow hit a home run to left field to send the game into extra innings.
The Lady Tigers had a chance to score in the eighth, with two runners, but were unable to convert. SNU took advantage and was able to get a run across the plate in the bottom of the eighth for the 6-7 win.
