Box Score 2 MAGNOLIA, ARK. – The East Central University softball teams split the final two games of the series at Southern Arkansas in Great American Conference action.
The Lady Tigers (21-18, 13-13 GAC) saw a total of 10 players recorded a hit, with four garnering two each. Junior
Kayci Snider tallied two hits and recorded three RBIs. Junior
Chelsea Patterson added a .400 average with two hits, two runs and one RBI.
Junior
Brianna Nunley earned the win in the circle, with a complete game shutout. Nunley allowed seven hits and struck out one batter, while allowing zero runs.
ECU will be back in action Tuesday, April 8 for a double-header against arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State at Lady Tiger Field starting at 1 p.m.
Game 2 – ECU 5, SAU 0The Lady Tigers got things started in the top of the second by scoring three runs. Sophomore
Leah Tigert led off with a single, but was thrown out when sophomore
Autumn Suydam hit into a fielder's choice. Suydam ended up on second on the play due to an error.

Jordynn VanPelt scored the first run with a single. Junior
Chelsea Patterson added a run with a triple and was sent home on a single from Snider for the 3-0 lead.
Two innings later ECU added two more runs for a 5-0 advantage. VanPelt was walked after the first two outs and stole second. She was sent to third when Patterson singled to short. Snider then earned two RBIs when she hit a single through the left side.
The Lady Muleriders (23-17, 18-12 GAC) had seven hits in the game, but were unable to get a runner past second base throughout the game.
Game 1 – SAU 8, ECU 3The Lady Tigers took an early 2-0 lead in to top of the first inning. Junior
Kaile Marcum singled and stole second to put herself in scoring position when senior
Gina Mengwasser doubled to right center. Suydam followed with a double down the left line for the second run.
SAU gain the advantage in the bottom of the third, scoring four runs for a 2-4 score.
ECU cut the deficit to one in the top of the fourth (3-4). Freshman
Nicole Nordie singled and was advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Sophomore
Amanda Edmundson earned the RBI with a single through the left side.
The Lady Muleriders then added a run in the fourth, fifth and two in the sixth for a 3-8 win.
