MOUNTAIN HOME, ARK. – The East Central University women's golf team finished sixth at 2016 Southern Bancorp Invitational hosted by Henderson State at Big Creek Country Club.

The Tigers shot a 646 (329-317) in the two round event that saw six other teams from the Great American Conference in attendance.  Just two of those teams (Arkansas Tech-1^st; HSU-T4th) finished above ECU, while four finished below.

Junior Molli Taylor led the Tigers with a 157 (81-76), which tied her for ninth individually.  Sophomore Madelyn Lehr tied for 13^th with a 159 (79-80) and junior Brook Hurst tied for 30^th with a 164 (87-77).  Senior Sarah DeLong tied for 36^th with a 166 (82-84) and sophomore Jae Lynn Lamkin tied for 64^th with a 192 (98-84).

ECU will play its final regular-season tournament, April 10-12, before heading to the GAC Championships.  The Lion's Classic will be hosted by Arkansas-Fort Smith at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith, Ark.
