SHAWNEE, OKLA. – The East Central University men's and women's track & field teams saw six student-athletes earn All-Great American Conference honors at the inaugural GAC Track & Field Championships.

2016 GAC Championship Results
The Tigers saw three claim GAC titles and three more earn second-place finishes.
Junior
Jennifer Swart was also honored as a Crafton Tull Distinguished Award honoree, as a participant in the championship with a 3.70 GPA or higher who has completed at least 70 hours.
The first title came from freshman
Anna Mora, who finished first in the women's 10,000 Meter Run, Thursday, May 5. Mora finished the race in a time of 39:49.46, over 10 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
On the same night, senior
Juan-Joel Pacheco Orozco finished second in the men's 10,000 Meter Run, less than a second behind the leader in 32:14.92.
During the final day of the championships, junior
Adrian Guevara started things for the Tigers by claiming the men's 1,500 Meter Run title, finishing in 3:58.60.
Junior
Bruce Bragg took the final championship title, with a first-place finish in the men's 800 Meter Run in 1:53.64.
The final two all-conference honors were earned by freshman
Dilland Gardner, who came in second in both the men's shot put and discus. Gardner had a long throw of 46.11m (151'03") in the discus and 14.76m (48'5.25") in the shot put. His mark in the shot put was just over a foot shy of the champion (49'6.25").
As a team the men finished fourth (out of five) with 56.50 points, while the women were fifth (of five) with 12 points.
