ADA – The East Central University softball team will be hitting the road for the first Great American Conference road series of the 2017 season to face Northwestern Oklahoma State, March 10-11. Double-headers are set for both days, with Friday's starting at 1 p.m. and Saturday's at noon at the Alva Rec Complex.
The Tigers went 3-1 last weekend against Southwestern, earning their first GAC wins of the season. Junior
Alissa Taylor and sophomore
Ellanee Allison led the team, hitting .500 or over for the weekend. Taylor hit .533, with four runs, eight hits, three doubles and four RBIs. Allison added a .500 average, four runs, six hits and her first two career home runs, with seven RBIs.
Senior
Kelbie Crelia went 1-1 in the circle, with 9.0 innings of work, 16 hits and five runs allowed, and three strikeouts. Freshman
Karlie Milburn added five K's in 10.2 innings with a win. Freshman
Sierra Skaggs earned her first career win, in 3.2 innings, seven hits and six runs allowed and a strikeout.
The Rangers come into the weekend with a 2-18 overall mark and a 0-8 mark in the GAC, while hitting .214 as a team and allowing a .359 mark.
Brittany Corrales is the leader at the plate, with a .315 average, seven runs, 17 hits, two double, a home run and five RBIs.
NWOSU has four members on the pitching staff, with two throwing over 15 innings this season. Madison Garza has a 1-7 record, 4.43 ERA, three complete games, a shutout, 49.0 innings of work, 82 hits and 51 runs allowed and 42 Ks. Karly Murray has thrown 52.2 innings, with a 4.78 ERA, 1-9 record, 81 hits and 57 runs allowed and 36 strikeouts.
