ADA – The East Central University softball team is preparing for the final regular-season games of the 2018 season, with a trip to the Great American Conference Championship Tournament on the line. The teams will play doubleheaders April 28 and 29, with each days doubleheaders starting at 12 p.m.

Saturday's games will feature Senior Day activities to honor seniors Claresha Clemons and Alissa Taylor before the start of the games.

The Tigers (20-27-1, 15-22-1 GAC) are currently in eighth in the GAC standings (eight teams make the tournament), with just two spots left open.  ECU will battle with Ouachita, Oklahoma Baptist, Northwestern and Southwestern for the final two spots.

The Tigers went 0-1-1 last weekend against Southern Nazarene, with game two being suspended because of darkness and day two's games were cancelled due to weather.  ECU was led by Taylor at the plate, with a.750 average.  She tallied six hits, a run and two RBIs.  Junior Mariah Ewy added a .667 average, with two hits and a run.

The Blossoms are 10-39 overall and 10-28 in GAC action after going 3-1 against Harding last weekend.  The three wins on the road last weekend, moved UAM's road record to 4-18 on the year.

The Blossoms are being led by Jordan Herbner, with a .270 average, 37 hits, 16 runs and five RBIs.

On the mound, Abigail Leonards has a clear lead in innings pitcher, with 123.0.  Leonards has appeared in 26 games, has a 4-19 record, allowed 189 hits and 109 runs and struck out 49 batters.

The Tigers currently lead the all-time series at 14-9 overall, 13-7 in GAC action and 6-4 when playing at home.
