ADA – The East Central University softball team will head to Bentonville, Ark., to participate in the 2018 Great American Conference Championship Tournament for the seventh-straight season, May 2-5 at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

The Tigers finished the regular-season with a 23-28-1 overall record and an 18-23-1 mark in the league, finishing eighth.
Sophomore
Catherine Barrera has led ECU at the plate in 2018, earning a .396 batting average, 27 runs, 55 hits, seven doubles, two triples, three home runs and 15 RBIs. Senior
Alissa Taylor adds a .367 average, 31 runs, 65 hits, nine doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 37 RBIs.
Freshman
Jacey Henry has made a name for herself as an all-around player. She has a .339 batting average, 43 hits, eight doubles, five home runs and 25 RBIs while batting. The Marietta, Okla., native adds a 1.000 fielding percentage, with 29 put outs, 36 assisted outs and no errors.
Henry is also a threat in the circle, earning the most time this season for the Tigers at 90.2 innings. She has a 3.63 ERA, 5-8 record, six complete games, two saves, 102 hits, 60 runs allowed (47 earned), 44 strikeouts and an opponent batting average of .285.
ECU and SAU met at in the first GAC series of the season, Feb. 25-26, where the Muleriders took three of the four games in the series, while ranked No. 7 in the nation. The series was technically an away series for the Tigers, but due to weather the games were played in Bonham, Texas.
In the all-time series, SAU currently holds a 26-13 overall advantage, and a 1-0 mark when playing on a neutral field.
