NORMAN, OKLA. – The East Central University men's and women's track & field teams saw two student-athletes finish first in events and six more top-three finishes at the 2019 GAC Indoor Track & Field Indoor Championship & Last Chance Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Center.
The men's team finished fourth of six teams, while the women were fourth of eight at the event.

Senior
Larry Filer and redshirt junior
Anna Mora both took first in their respective 3,000-meter races. Filer finished in a time of 8:46.83, while Mora ran in 10:23.20. Junior
Eliud Koech finished second in the 3,000-meters on the men's side (8:58.28).
The men's team also saw top-three finishes by Koech in the 5,000-meters (3
rd – 15:39.86), junior
Caleb Eagans in the long jump (2
nd – 6.75m) and senior
Dilland Gardner in the shot put (2
nd – 14.20m).
The women saw top-three finishes from redshirt junior Yvette Fleix in the 5,000-meters (3
rd – 18:56.81) and a second place finish by the distance medley team. Sophomore
Barbara Johnson, junior
Naomi Similus, junior
Danielle Davidson and Mora combined to finish in 12:41.69.
The Tigers also saw nine more participants finish in the top-10 in the 14 events that the men's and women's team participated in.
ECU will now be idle until March 14 when they open the 2019 outdoor season at the Oklahoma Baptist Early Outdoor Invitational in Shawnee, Okla.
