ADA – The East Central University softball team is preparing for the final regular-season games of the 2015 season, as they travel to Great American Conference foe Ouachita Baptist. Double-headers are set for Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Tigers (24-13, 21-8 GAC) will be fighting for one of the top three seeds in the GAC Championship the following week.  ECU is currently third behind Henderson State and Southeastern Oklahoma State, who will be facing each other this weekend.

OBU is 11-31 overall and 7-24 in the GAC and did not earn a spot in the tournament field this season.  Sarah Johnson and Kate Lacina are the top producers at the plate.  Johnson has a .394 batting average, with 23 runs, 50 hits and 29 RBIs.  Lacina adds a .325 average, 37 hits (10 home runs) and 23 RBIs.

Ouachita has three pitchers that have seen over 65 innings of work this season, with Macy Nantz leading the way with 101.2 innings of action.  Nantz has gone 4-14 in the circle, allowing 141 hits and 88 runs and earning 50 strikeouts.
In 2014, the teams meet five times, including an ECU win at the conference tournament.  East Central went 3-1 in the regular-season games at Tiger Field.

Junior Jordynn VanPelt led the team with a .667 average, three runs, 10 hits (two home runs), and nine RBIs.  Senior Brianna Nunley went 2-1 in the circle in 14.2 innings of work.  She allowed 14 hits and nine runs and struck out six.

Jessica Branam is the top returner for OBU, with a .364 average, four runs and four hits.  Macy Nantz is the only returning pitcher with a 1-2 record.  She allowed 27 h its and 13 runs in 13 innings, while striking out three.
