SEARCY, ARK. – The East Central University track and field team placed seven on the All-Great American Conference teams at the 2017 GAC Championships. The women finished sixth as a team (out of seven), while the men were sixth (out of six).
2017 Great American Conference Championship Results
On the women's side four student-athletes earned all-conference honors, while a total of eight finished in the top-10 in their respective events. The men saw three earn all-conference honors and nine finish in the top-10.
Junior
Michaela Lombardi led the way for the women with a first-place finish in the 10,000 Meters, in a time of 38.25.11. Lombardi also added a seventh-place finish in the 1,500 Meters (5:00.54).
Junior
Bre'Anna Davis earned two all-conference honors, finishing second in both the discus and shot put. She finished the discus with a throw of 38.43m (126'01") and the shot put with a toss of 12.11m (39'8.75").
Sophomore
Anna Mora was the last to claim All-GAC honors with a second-place finish in the 5,000 Meters in a time of 17:52.65.
Freshman
Abbie Winchester was sixth in the high jump (1.47m/4'9.75"), junior
Marisa Meza was sixth in the 5,000 Meters (18:36.00) and sophomore
Kelsey Horner was 10
th in the 5,000 Meters (19:24.38).
On the men's side, sophomore
Dilland Gardner earned two All-GAC honors with a second-place finish in the discus and third in the shot put. Gardner threw a mark of 45.25m (149'04") in the discus and a mark of 14.40m (47'3") in the shot put.
Sophomore
Cole Montgomery was the final member of the team to earn all-conference honors, placing second in the 5,000 Meters (15:01.90).
