PUEBLO, COLO. – The East Central University women's soccer team scored its first goals of the 2013 season, but fell 2-4 to Colorado Springs at Rawlings Soccer Complex on the campus of Colorado State Pueblo.

The Lady Tigers (0-2) were led by junior Milan Galloway who tallied two assists and three shots in 68 minutes. ECU's goals were scored by senior Ashley Branford and junior Kourtney Holleman.
"Again we started too slow," said head coach Riley Bailey. "It's hard to play from behind the entire game. The team responded well in the second half and we made a great push. I am happy with the effort, but we've got to be able to put a full 90 minutes together. The season is young and hopefully this weekend will be a stepping stone to where we want to be in November."
The Mountain Lions (2-0) scored twice in the first half to take a 0-2 lead into the locker room.
The Lady Tigers countered at 51:28 in the second half to cut the deficit within one, 1-2. Holleman earned ECU's first goal of the season on an assist from Galloway.
UCCS added goals at 60:52 and 72:55 to push the lead back to 1-4.
The Lady Tigers kept fighting and Bradford scored her first goal of the season at 86:39 on an assist from Galloway to make the final 2-4.
ECU played three goal keepers in the game. Freshman Lexi Hurley played the opening stanza and recorded two saves. Freshman Breena Jewell started the second half and stopped four shots in 30:22 of action. Redshirt freshman Taylor Lowe finished the game in next, garnering two saves in 14:38.
The Mountain Lions were an aggressive team, recording 31 shots, with 12 making it to the net. The Lady Tigers tallied 12 total shots, five on net.
ECU will return home to host their first game at Lady Tiger Field, Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m. against Northeastern State.
