Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 39 Central Oklahoma

Junior Bernardita Muscillo scored two points for the Lady Tigers against UCO.
ADA – The East Central University women's tennis team dropped their first home match of the 2013-14 season, 3-6, to No. 39 Central Oklahoma at Mayhue Courts.  The match was against a regional opponent, who is ranked No. 5 in the ITA Central Regional poll.

The Lady Tigers (1-5) came out of the doubles matches down 1-2, with junior Bernardita Muscillo and freshman Julia Municoy earning an 8-2 win over Kristin Richardson and Anna Braun at No. 2 doubles.

After UCO earned one more point for a 1-3 lead to start singles, Muscillo added a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win over Petra Pesic at No. 1 singles to make it 2-3.

The Bronchos then took the next three points to earn the win.  However, junior Elisabeth Dignard earned a win in the final singles match, defeating Richardson 7-6 (8), 1-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for the 3-6 final.

ECU was scheduled to face Seminole State, Monday, Feb. 24 for their next match, but the women's action for that match has been cancelled.  The ECU men's tennis team will still battle with Seminole State, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. at Mayhue Courts.

The women's tennis next match is now Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. when Tarleton State comes to Ada.
