Women’s Tennis Falls in GAC Semifinals

BENTONVILLE, ARK. – The East Central University women's tennis team saw its 2015-16 season come to an end with a 1-5 loss to Arkansas Tech in the 2016 Great American Conference Championship Tournament semifinals.

The Tigers finish the season with an 11-14 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the GAC standings, while ranking No. 9 in the ITA Central Region.

ECU fell behind early, falling in all three doubles matches.

The Golden Suns (11-12) added a fourth point taking No. 6 singles.

The Tigers saw their point come from sophomore Srijita Ghosh, who defeated Camila Roca 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.

ECU took the first set in all the remaining singles matches, but there were all forced into a third set, with the final point need by ATU coming at No. 3 singles, which was the first to finish.
