LAWTON, OKLA. – The East Central University men's tennis team split a pair of non-conference matches at the Stretch-Henry Tennis Complex. The Tigers (4-3) first picked up an 8-1 win over Colorado State-Pueblo and then fell to Cameron, 2-5.

ECU opened the first match with a strong showing, earning wins in all three doubles matches. Seniors
Andrew Cabato and
Julian Caminos first earned an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles over Le Trung Nguyen and Joao De Silveria.
Juniors
Max DeJuan and
Marc Fillat then defeated Saul Shrom and Emir Machado 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. Freshman
Stefan Schodlbauer and junior
Nate Kipping then claimed an 8-4 win over Sergio Avella and A. Moncayo-Samperio.
The Tigers then claimed five of the six singles matches. Cabato earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over Nguyen at No. 4 singles. DeJuan defeated Machado 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, Schodlbauer added a 7-5, 6-0 win over Marcello Chararro at No. 6 singles, Caminos defeated Avella 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and Fillat defeated Shrom 7-6 97-1), 7-6 (8-6) at No. 1 singles.
In the second match of the day, the Tigers fell 2-5 to Cameron and were trailing 0-3 after the doubles matches.
ECU's points came with a forfeit win for Caminos at No. 3 singles over Rory de Boer. DeJuan also claimed a 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 win over Felipe Oyarzun at No. 2 singles.
The Tigers will return home to face Midwestern State, Thursday, March 6 at 3 p.m. at Mayhue Courts.
