Tennis Set to Return to Courts This Weekend

ADA – After having over a week off both the East Central University men's and women's tennis teams will return to action at Mayhue Courts for two matches each this weekend.  Both teams are set to host Arkansas Fort Smith, Friday, March 14 at 1 p.m. and then Cowley County, Saturday, March 15 at noon.

On the men's side, the Tigers are 4-4 overall this season and ranked No. 9 in the ITA Central Region.  ECU is being led by freshman Stefan Schodlbauer, who is 5-2 at No. 6 singles and has gone 4-4 in doubles with junior Nate Kipping.  Junior Max DeJuan has also had a good start to the season, going 4-4 at No. 2 singles and 4-4 at No. 2 doubles with junior Marc Fillat.

Arkansas Fort Smith's men's team is 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the Heartland Conference heading into this weekend's match.  The Lions will face Oklahoma Baptist, Tuesday, March 11 at home before coming to Ada.

On the women's side, the Lady Tigers are 1-7 overall after playing four ranked opponents.  ECU is being led by freshman Julia Municoy, who is 4-4 in singles and 2-6 in doubles.  Municoy has paired with senior Agostina Moran for a 1-3 doubles mark and with junior Bernardita Muscillo for a 1-3 record.

Arkansas Fort Smith is 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the Heartland this season and will also battle with Oklahoma Baptist, Tuesday, March 11 at home before facing the Lady Tigers.
