Men’s Tennis Falls to Southeastern

Senior Andrew Cabato helped the Tigers win two points in the match against Southeastern.
ADA – The East Central University men's tennis team dropped a tight, 4-5, decision to Great American Conference league-leading Southeastern Oklahoma State at Mayhue Courts.

The Tigers (7-8, 101 GAC) took an early 2-1 advantage after the doubles matches.  Senior Andrew Cabato and Julian Caminos started with an 8-2 win over Petar Popovic and Martin Bedecarratz at No. 1 doubles. 

Juniors Max DeJuan and Marc Fillat added a point with an 8-5 win over Tiago Ferreira and Alberto Blesa at No. 2 doubles.

The Savage Storm (10-6, 3-0 GAC) then tied the set with the first singles set to end (No. 2), but the ECU regained a 3-2 lead when Caminos defeated Popovic 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

SEOSU tied the game again at three with a win at No. 1 singles.  The Tigers again gained a 4-3 lead when Cabato defeated Tiago Ferreira 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
However, the Savage Storm took the final to singles matches to earn the 4-5 win.

The Tigers will finish their GAC season, Saturday, April 12 when they welcome Harding for a match at Mayhue Courts at 9 am.
