Women’s Tennis Prepares for GAC Season

ADA – The East Central University women's tennis team will play the majority of its Great American Conference matches over the next nine days.  The Lady Tigers (3-12, 0-1 GAC) have played just one GAC match this season, falling to Southern Nazarene (4-5).

Henderson State is the first team on the list of league matches, set for Friday, April 4 at 3 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Ark.  The Lady Reddies are 3-11 overall and 0-4 in the GAC having faced Arkansas Tech, Harding, Southeastern and Southern Nazarene already this season.

ECU will then face Ouachita Baptist, Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m. in Arkadelphia, Ark.  The Lady Tigers have struggled this season falling to 0-13 overall and 0-2 in league play.

The next test will be a road match at Arkansas Tech, Tuesday, April 8 at 3 p.m.  ATU is ranked No. 29 in the nation in the ITA polls and No. 2 in the Central Region.  The Golden Suns are 12-2 overall and 4-0 in the GAC.

The Lady Tigers will then wrap up the GAC season with two home matches at Mayhue Courts.  ECU will host Southeastern Oklahoma State, Thursday, April 10 at 2 p.m. and Harding, Saturday, April 12 at 9 a.m.

Southeastern is 4-8 overall and 1-1 in the GAC so far this season.  Harding is currently ranked No. 10 in the Central Region and has a 9-4 overall mark and 2-0 GAC record.
