ADA – The East Central University men's and women's tennis teams will be headed to Wichita, Kan., for two matches this weekend. The Tigers will first face Rockhurst, Saturday, Feb. 14 and then Newman, Sunday, Feb. 15.
The matches will be the fourth and fifth matches on the season for the men's team, who is 1-2 so far this season and currently ranked No. 43 in the nation. Freshman
Alex Fillat leads the Tigers in single play, with a 4-1 record after winning his last three matches. Senior
Nate Kipping and sophomore
Stefan Schodlbauer are a strong pair at No. 3 doubles, having gone 2-0 so far this season.
The women's team is 3-1 on the year after picking up a key regional win over Central Oklahoma Thursday. Senior
Bernardita Muscillo is leading ECU in singles play, with a 4-2 record at No. 2 singles. Freshman
Srijita Ghosh and sophomore
Gloria Mayorga have become a strong pair at No. 2 doubles, going 2-2 so far in 2014-15.
Friday's matches are set to start around 4 p.m. and Saturday's at noon.
