FORT SMITH, ARK. – After having a week off, the East Central University men's tennis team returned to action and claimed a 9-0 win over Arkansas Fort Smith in non-conference road action.
The Tigers (4-6) swept through the doubles action to take a 3-0 lead at the start of the match, with No. 1 and No. 2 doubles both going into extra points.

Max DeJuan then added a fourth point with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jesse Green at No. 3 singles to put the match within reach. The match-winning point then came from freshman
Alex Fillat, who defeated Josh Coleman 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
ECU will return to the courts for three matches next weekend, staring with a March 27 match against Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo. The Tigers will also face Southwest Baptist (March 28) in Maryville and then travel to Cowley County JC for a March 29 match in Arkansas, Kan.
