MARYVILLE, MO. – The East Central University women's tennis team fell to two regionally-ranked opponents. The Tigers (6-8) first fell to Northwest Missouri State 6-3 and then to No. 19 Southwest Baptist 5-1.
ECU picked up a point in doubles against the Bearcats (8-4) at No. 2 doubles. Sophomore Srijita Ghost and freshman
Gloria Mayorga picked up an 8-3 win over Rachel Dibbins and Vilune Sestokaite.
The Tigers also earned wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles. Senior
Bernardita Muscillo defeated Lorena Rivas Jarolim (6-3, 6-4) and Mayorga defeated Stephanie Mannix (7-5, 6-0).
In the second match of the weekend, senior Virginie Rodriguez earned the lone point at No. 6 singles in a default match.
The Tigers will now get ready for their final match of the weekend, Sunday, March 29 at Cowley County at 10 a.m.
