DURANT, OKLA. – The East Central University men's tennis team dropped a 4-5 decision to arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference action.
The Tigers (6-11, 0-2 GAC) took one point during the doubles matches, with senior
Marc Fillat and freshman
Alex Fillat claiming a 9-7 win over Alberto Blesa and Tiago Ferreira at No. 1 doubles.
Alex Fillat then added a point at No. 2 singles, defeating Blesa, 6-0, 7-6 (5). However the Savage Storm (16-3, 3-0 GAC) took No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 singles to claim the win.
Sophomore
Stefan Schodlbauer and freshman
Adria Abella took the final two singles points for ECU, but the match had already been decided. Schodlbauer defeated Petar Popovic 7-6 (2), 3-6, 11-9 and Abella earned a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Joaquin Aguilera.
The Tigers will now prepare for their final match of the regular-season, Saturday, April 18 at Harding.
