ADA – The East Central University women's tennis team is still in the running for a share of the 2015 Great American Conference regular-season title despite a 7-2 loss to Arkansas Tech on Senior Day at Mayhue Courts.
The Tigers (11-11, 4-1 GAC) fell behind 0-3 after doubles and then fought hard through singles, but were only able to pick up two wins.
Sophomore
Gloria Mayorga earned the first point for ECU with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Laura Sanchez at No. 4 singles. Sophomore
Julia Municoy earned the second point in the final match of the day to finish. Municoy battled through for a 4-6, 7-5, 14-12 win at No. 1 singles over Tamara Bell.
The Tigers will now prepare for their final GAC match of the season, Monday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at Harding. If ECU wins they will earn a share of the 2015 GAC regular-season title.
