TULSA, OKLA. – The East Central University men's tennis team started its 2015-16 season at the ORU Tournament and finished 8-10 in singles and 5-3 in doubles play against three teams.

The Tigers played singles and doubles matches against the host Golden Eagles, Oklahoma Baptist and Seward County Community College.

ECU was 2-4 in singles against ORU and 1-2 in doubles, 3-3 in singles and 2-0 in doubles against the Bison and 3-3 in singles and 2-1 in doubles against Seward County.

Sophomore Marc Lerch went 3-0 in his singles play, while sophomore Sergio Espias was 2-0 and redshirt freshman Albert Lapiedra was 2-1 for those above .500.

In doubles play Espias and junior Stefan Schodlbauer went 2-0 and junior Erik Eldagsen and sophomore Alex Fillat were 2-1.

The Tigers will now complete the fall portion of their schedule at the ITA Central Regional, Oct. 2-4 in Springfield, Mo.
