ADA – The East Central University men's and women's tennis teams will combine to host three matches at Mayhue Courts this week, starting with a women's battle with Central Oklahoma, Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. Both teams will then host Cowley County Junior College, Saturday, Feb. 20 at 10 am.
The women's team is currently 1-2 and has been idle since a loss to No. 22 Midwestern State Feb. 6. The men are 0-3 on the season after falling to three ranked teams.
Central Oklahoma comes into the matches with a 5-2 record in 2015-16 after winning their last three outings.
When the teams met last season (Feb. 12, 2015), the Tigers claimed a 6-3 victory over the Bronchos. ECU trailed 1-2 after doubles, but fought back during singles to earn the win. Junior
Julia Municoy ended up with the match-winning point for the Tigers, with a win at No. 1 singles.
Cowley County is 2-4 overall, with a two-match winning streak going. In 2015, ECU defeated Cowley 7-2 (March 29).
On the men's side, Cowley County is 5-4 in 2015-16. The teams met in 2015, with ECU earning a 6-3 win at home. The match-winning point came from sophomore
