Women’s Tennis Falls to UCO

Sophomore Srijita Ghosh earned a win for ECU at No. 5 singles against UCO.
ADA – The East Central University women's tennis team dropped a 3-6 decision to regional opponent, Central Oklahoma at Mayhue Courts.

The Tigers (1-3) fell behind 1-2 after the doubles matches, with junior Gloria Mayorga and junior Julia Municoy earning the point for ECU.  The duo defeated Alli Hodges and Anna Minakova, 9-7, at No. 2 doubles.

The Bronchos (6-2) then took the first three singles matches to finish to earn the win.

The Tigers kept fighting through the final matches, with Municoy and sophomore Srijita Ghosh earning wins.  Municoy took No. 3 singles (6-2, 6-3) over Shali Schoepflin and Gosh won at No. 5 singles (6-3, 3-6, 10-4) over Emilie Semo.

ECU will continue its eight-match home stand, Saturday, Feb. 20 when they host Coley County at 10 a.m. at Mayhue Courts.
