ADA – The East Central University men's tennis team earned its first win of the season, 6-3, over Cowley County at the Ada High Tennis Courts.

The Tigers (1-3) started on a high note, taking all three doubles matches.

Junior Erik Eldagsen and sophomore Adria Abella first defeated Lucas Freitas and Nicholas Liddy, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles.  Sophomore Alex Fillat and redshirt freshman Albert Lapiedra added an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Lukas Michenka and Toby Timms.

Sophomore Sergio Espias and junior Stefan Schodlbauer then made it 3-0 with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles over Christian Borrero and Vincent Reynaud.

Espias put the match within reach for ECU with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Michenka.  Abella then earned the key point with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over Freitas.

The Tigers also saw a singles win from Eldagsen at No. 4 singles (7-5, 6-1).

ECU will now be idle until Tuesday, March 1 when they host Lewis at 1 p.m. at Mayhue Courts.
