ADA – In the first match of the season at Mayhue Courts, the East Central University women's tennis team fell 0-9 to No. 22 Midwestern State.

Sophomore Alex Makashov and redshirt freshman Anna Garcia fought hard at No. 1 doubles, but fell 5-8 to Abby White and Eirini Kontaki.

Junior Julia Municoy had a strong performance in singles, taking the first set against Maddie Schorlemmer at No. 3 singles, 7-5.  However, Municoy then fell 1-6 and 5-10 in the deciding sets.

The Tigers (1-2) will continue their eight-match home stand, Wednesday Feb. 17 when they host regional rival Central Oklahoma at 1 p.m.
