LAWTON, OKLA. – The No. 45 East Central University men's tennis team split a pair of matches at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex. The Tigers first fell to No. 15 Cameron (8-1) and then rebounded with an 8-1 win over Colorado State-Pueblo.

Sergio Espias defeated Dennis Merdan 7-5, 6-2, 12-10.
ECU then rebounded and took a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches against Colorado State-Pueblo. Sophomore

Erik Eldagsen took No. 2 doubles, 8-5, over Steven Alcala and Brenden Sullinger. Junior
Stefan Schodlbauer and Espias then added an 8-1 win over Marcelo Chaparro and Ryan Ray at No. 3 doubles.
The Tigers then came out strong, taking all six singles matches. Abella earned the biggest win of the day at No. 3 singles, defeating Chaparro 6-0, 6-0.
ECU will now prepare for a home match, Thursday, March 10 at 2 p.m. against Arkansas-Fort Smith at Mayhue Courts.
