ADA – The East Central University men's and women's tennis teams will be playing a combined seven matches over the next week, with the women's team set for four and the men three.
The women will first head to Oklahoma City to play an indoor match at the Oklahoma City Tennis Complex against Upper Iowa at 1 pm., Tuesday, March 8.
Both teams will then face Arkansas-Fort Smith, Thursday, March 10 at 2 p.m., Emporia State, Sunday, March 13 at 10 a.m. and Augustana, Monday, March 14 at 2 p.m. The match against UAFS is set for the Ada High School Tennis Courts and the matches against Emporia State and Augustana will be played in Emporia, Kan.
The ECU women's team is currently 2-5 overall after falling to Lewis last week. The men's team is 3-3 after going 2-1 the previous week, with wins over Lewis and Colorado State-Pueblo.
Upper Iowa comes into this week with a 7-1 record and will face Seminole State, Monday, March 7 before facing the Tigers. The UAFS Lions are 1-7 this season and are ranked No. 10 in the South Central Region. The Hornets women's team is 5-0, but has not played since Oct. 11 and will have three matches over three days before hosting the Tigers.
On the men's side, UAFS is 2-4 this year, Emporia State is 6-0 and Augustana 6-3. The Lions will play at Oklahoma Baptist March 8 before coming to Ada, the Hornets have three matches set before host the Tigers and Augustana will face Emporia Saturday, March 12.
