OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. – In an NCAA Central Regional match, the East Central University women's tennis team picked up a 7-2 win over Upper Iowa at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

Anna Garcia started the match with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles over Jemina Linn Sorman and Yulia Prokopyshyn.
ECU added the second point with a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles by sophomore
Srijita Ghosh and freshman
Becca Richison over Kelly Jachymowski and Ana Okolot. The Peacocks (7-2) then took No. 1 doubles for the 2-1 score.
Makashov was the first to finish in the singles matches, earning a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sorman at No. 3 singles. Sophomore
Veronica Mijares then made it 4-1 with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Prokopyshyn at No. 6 singles.
Ghosh then gave the Tigers the win with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Okolot at No. 5 singles.
ECU also added points from junior
Julia Municoy at No. 1 singles (7-5, 2-6, 10-7) and Garcia at No. 2 singles (6-4, 4-6, 10-8).
The Tigers will continue their busy week, Thursday, March 10 when they are set to host Arkansas-Fort Smith at 2 p.m. at the Ada High Tennis Courts.
