ARKADELPHIA, ARK. – After a week off, the East Central University women's tennis team returned to the courts and earned a 6-3 win over Henderson State in the first Great American Conference match of the 2015-16 season.

Anna Garcia earned the point with a 9-7 win over Sara Griffin and Mariah Bartlett at No. 2 doubles.
Garcia tied the match for ECU with a 6-1, 7-6 (7) win over Amanda Korinihona at No. 2 singles. Sophomore
Srijita Ghosh then gave the Tigers the lead with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 win over Bartlett at No. 5 singles.
Mayorga pushed the lead to 4-2 by earning a 7-6 (2), 6-0 win over Alexandra Morillo at No. 4 singles.
The Reddies (7-6, 0-1 GAC) earned their final point of the match at No. 3 singles to make it 4-3 before junior
Julia Municoy claimed the victory for ECU with a 2-6, 6-5, 6-1 win over Annie Shannon at No. 1 singles.
Sophomore
Veronica Mijares earned the final point of the match with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles over Griffin.
The Tigers will continue their weekend in Arkadelphia, Ark., as they take on Ouachita Baptist, Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m.
