ADA – The East Central University men's and women's tennis teams dropped close decisions to Southeastern Oklahoma State, April 12. The No. 38 men's team fell 4-5 to No. 23 SEOSU, while the women's team dropped a 3-6 decision.
The women's team started the match with a 2-1 lead after doubles, with No. 1 and No. 2 winning. Sophomore

Julia Municoy claimed an 8-6 win over Alexsandra Reljic and Darja Catipovic at No. 1, while redshirt freshman
Anna Garcia and junior
Gloria Mayorga defeated Ana Buiukian and Franzi Richtsfeld 8-6 at No. 2.
The final point for the Tigers came from Makashov at No. 3 singles, defeating Catipovic 6-3, 6-3.
The men's match was tight from start to finish. The Savage Storm took an early 1-2 lead after doubles, with sophomore
Sergio Espias and junior
Erik Eldagsen defeating Alberto Blesa and Nethanel Alcabas 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
The teams then split the singles, matches, with ECU earning wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 singles, with the one-point lead after doubles being the deciding factor.
Espias earned a win at No. 1 singles over Maksim Fil by retirement, taking the first set 7-5, losing the second 4-6 and leading 3-2 in the third before Fil retired.
Sophomore
Adria Abella picked up a point for the Tigers with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Alberto Blesa at No. 3 singles. The final point came from Eldagsen, who defeated Jack Gibbens 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 at No. 4 singles.
Both teams will now get ready to battle Harding, Friday, April 15 at 5 p.m. at the Ada High School Tennis Courts.
