Men’s Tennis Falls to Harding

Junior Erik Eldagsen is one of two ECU players to go undefeated in singles play during the GAC season.
ADA – The East Central University men's tennis team dropped a tight, 4-5 decision to Harding in the final match of the 2015-16 regular season.

The Tigers (8-11, 1-3 GAC) will head to the 2016 Great American Conference Championship Tournament as the No. 4 seed, April 22-24 in Bentonville, Ark., and will face Ouachita in the opening round.

ECU fell behind 0-3 after doubles, but had a strong singles showing, taking four of the six matches.

Sophomore Sergio Espias remained undefeated in league action, earning a 7-5, 7-5 win over Carlos Crisostomo at No. 1 singles.

Sophomore Adria Abella added a point with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Neto Cacace at No. 3 singles to go 3-1 in single play against GAC opponents.

Junior Erik Eldagsen added a 6-2, 6-2 win over Henrique Vieira at No. 4 singles to also go undefeated in conference singles action (4-0) in 2016.

The final point came from sophomore Marc Lerch at No. 5 singles, with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Brandon Hogland.
